Smooth Wall Aluminum Foil Containers
Your smooth wall foil containers need room for the food, a closure that fits, and a finish you are happy to put your name on. Qixin's current range includes compact square, oval, long narrow, medium rectangular, and deep large formats.
You can compare their listed sizes below. Once you have a likely model, we can check the rim, lid or film, usable fill, and packing with your sample.
Five smooth wall foil formats to compare
The same capacity can come in very different shapes. Compare the footprint and depth as well as the volume.
| Model and shape | Top size | Height | Listed capacity | Suitable starting point |
|---|---|---|---|---|
![]() QXS9Compact square | 90 x 90 mm | 38 mm | 250 ml | For a small portion, sauce, dessert sampler, or compact side. |
![]() QXH1Oval roasting | 280 x 170 mm | 45 mm | 1,400 ml | For a wider baked dish or roast portion; check food height and the cover. |
![]() QXH2Long narrow | 320 x 87 mm | 55 mm | 1,200 ml | For long foods where length matters more than width; check support at the ends. |
![]() QXS3Medium rectangular | 220 x 149 mm | 43 mm | 1,200 ml | For a prepared main meal; confirm headspace and the lid or film. |
![]() QXS4Deep large | 248 x 185 mm | 73 mm | 3,600 ml | For a deeper family or sharing dish; check filled weight and stack pressure. |
Capacities are listed model values, not guaranteed usable fill. Confirm headspace, rim and closure fit, finish, nesting, and case packing on your approved sample. Product photos are not shown to a common scale.

Your finish on the formed tray
You may want a plain metallic finish for your smooth wall foil containers, a colored exterior, or artwork that ties several sizes together. The formed tray matters as much as the flat color reference: corners, reflections, and curved walls change what you see.
- What you see on the shelf
- Review the side and top with the intended food level and closure. A tall lid or sleeve can hide the part of the design you wanted to show.
- What you feel in hand
- Check the rim, corner shape, surface marks, and filled weight. Appearance alone does not tell you how the tray will handle.
- Your artwork
- A logo position needs to work on the formed wall. We can review your artwork files against the selected format.

Which lid fits your smooth wall foil tray?
Top size alone is not enough to match a lid. Your tray's rim profile, food height, and handling conditions all matter. These are closure options to discuss, not a promise that every option fits every model.
| Closure | What it changes | What needs confirmation |
|---|---|---|
| Clear lid | You can see the food without opening the pack; the lid adds to its overall height. | Exact fit around the rim, food clearance, retention, and stacking. |
| Board lid | A flat cover keeps the packed profile lower than a raised lid. | Board size and construction, how the rim holds it, and movement after handling. |
| Foil lid | The lid and tray become a paired pack rather than two separate purchases. | Lid dimensions, attachment or sealing method, opening, and packed height. |
| Heat-seal film | The tray, film, and sealing equipment have to work together. | Rim suitability, film and coating compatibility, seal settings, and tests with your food. |
| No lid | More of the food and tray remain visible during service. | How the filled tray is held, moved, and protected before it reaches the counter. |

For material background, the European Aluminium Foil Association explains container and lidding formats. Your finished pack still needs its own fit and performance checks.
From filling to the next delivery
Your smooth wall foil tray can look right when empty and behave differently with a meal inside. The useful sample is the one filled, closed, and packed as you intend to sell it.
- Food level: enough space for your portion without food touching the closure or contaminating a sealing area.
- Handling: support under the base and at the ends, especially with a long tray or a heavier fill.
- Stacking: stable filled packs, with no lid compression or visible rubbing that you would reject.
- Case packing: tray count, nesting, protective packing, carton movement, and labels that distinguish similar models.
You can keep the approved model, closure, finish, and carton details together in your sample approval record. That gives the next order a specific reference.

Questions about smooth wall foil containers
The model dimensions narrow the choice. Your food, equipment, and intended use decide whether that choice works.
Does the listed capacity equal my portion size?
No. Listed capacity is a model value, not a guaranteed usable fill. Your food shape, fill weight, headspace, and closure may reduce the amount you can pack. A filled sample is the better check.
Can I keep the lid I already use?
Possibly, but a similar top size does not prove a match. A physical lid sample and the tray's rim details let us review fit. Your sealing film and equipment also matter if you use a heat-sealed pack.
Can these trays be frozen or reheated?
That needs confirmation for the exact tray, coating, lid or film, food, and process. Share the temperatures, times, and equipment you use. Smooth walls alone do not establish heating or freezing suitability.
Do I need smooth wall rather than a regular foil tray?
It depends on the appearance, portion, closure, and handling you need. Our smooth wall and regular foil comparison sets out the differences without treating one as the answer for every pack.
Which format comes closest to your meal?
If you have found a likely model, send its code with your food use, quantity, destination, and closure preference. A photo of your current pack is helpful when you are matching something you already buy.
If none of the five formats is close, give us the space available and the portion you need to fit. We can review the next option with you. The quote checklist covers the details that affect pricing.
