Custom foil containers, trays and pans

Your food, portion size and brand all have a place in the design. Qixin makes custom foil containers with a choice of shapes, colors, printed artwork and lids. You can start with an existing model or discuss a new mold when the dimensions need to change.

Custom foil trays in a shape that fits your food

A round dessert cup and a rectangular meal tray ask different things of the same material. The container needs room for your portion, enough clearance under the lid and a rim that suits how you close it.

If you already have a pack that works, its model number or dimensions give us a useful starting point. For a new product, a filled sample can help settle the size before you invest in artwork or tooling.

You can compare container sizes or look at the wall-style comparison before choosing a model.

Usable capacity

Your fill level may sit below the brim. We review the portion and headspace as well as the quoted capacity.

Top and base sizes

A wider opening can help with filling or serving. The base still needs to fit your shelf, tray or carton.

Wall and rim

Smooth and wrinkled walls have different surfaces and forming details. The chosen model also determines the available closure options.

A black exterior and gold interior give this container two different visible finishes.

Color and print for custom foil containers

You may want a simple exterior color, a contrasting interior or your own artwork around the sidewall. Qixin offers gravure printing in up to nine colors. The selected model and finish determine where the design can go.

Your logo on the formed tray

Curves and corners change how flat artwork looks. We review the print position with you, including what remains visible once the container has its lid on.

Your color in real light

A Pantone reference or an existing pack gives us a target. A physical sample lets you judge that color on aluminum before approving production.

The printing and artwork details cover files, plates and sample approval. Pantone also explains its color reference systems.

Lids for your custom foil containers

Two lids can look the same size and still fit differently. For your custom foil trays, we check the exact rim and closure together. Heating, chilling, transport and display also affect which lid makes sense.

ClosureWhat you gainWhat needs confirming
Foil or board lidA covered pack with an opaque top.The rim and folding method, packed height and intended food use.
Clear PP or PET lidA view of the food without opening the pack.Exact fit and clearance above the food. Do not assume a clear lid can enter an oven.
Heat-seal filmA sealed top for a compatible container and filling process.Rim, coating, film and sealing equipment, followed by trials with your filled product.

For an existing model, the lid compatibility chart helps narrow the closure options.

Does your project need a new mold?

You can often put your brand on an existing container. A new shape or changed dimensions need a separate tooling review.

Customize an existing model

Keep the available shape and dimensions, then discuss the color, print and matching lid. This avoids developing a new mold just to change the appearance.

Printed orders commonly start at 50,000 pieces. Your model, design and packing requirements determine the confirmed minimum and lead time.

Develop a new container

If the existing range cannot meet your size or shape, we review a drawing and sample plan. The mold cost and approval steps belong in the quotation before tooling starts.

New-mold projects commonly start at 100,000 pieces. The schedule includes tooling and sample approval as well as production.

The existing-mold and new-mold comparison explains the cost and approval differences in more detail.

Custom foil containers with color or print

A repeating pattern, a seasonal print or a plain metallic finish gives your container a different appearance. You can compare these examples with the food and brand you have in mind.

Questions about your custom foil containers

Some details depend on the item you choose. We can review them with your sample or reference pack.

Can I see a sample before a bulk order?

Yes. We can discuss an existing model sample first. A sample with your own shape or artwork may involve tooling or plate-making costs. We confirm the sample scope, cost and approval steps with you before that work begins.

Do I need finished artwork to ask for a quote?

No. Your logo, reference image or current pack is enough for an initial conversation. We will need an approved technical layout before making printing plates. The chosen container model helps us review the available print area.

Can my printed container go in a freezer or oven?

That depends on the exact container, coating, print and lid. Tell us your food, temperature and holding time. We review the intended conditions for that item rather than apply one temperature range to every custom foil container.

Documents, cost and delivery

Which food-contact documents can you provide?

We review document requests against the product, materials, intended food use and destination market. Please include any specific requirement from your quality team. A general company certificate does not establish suitability for every container and use.

What affects the price of custom foil containers?

The model, foil specification, coating, artwork, lids, quantity and carton pack all affect the quote. New tooling and printing plates are separate setup items where required. We identify those costs so you can compare the first order with later reorders.

When can I expect the finished order?

We confirm the production schedule after reviewing your model, design and quantity. Artwork approval, tooling and samples can add time before production. Freight is a separate part of the delivery schedule, so please include your destination and required arrival date.

What would you like to make?

A photo of your current pack, a product model or a rough drawing is enough to begin. Tell us what you want to keep and what needs to change, along with your approximate quantity and destination.

If you are still deciding between two options, send both. We can compare the sample and quotation requirements with you.
