Custom foil container
order guide
Your custom foil container order may use a shape we already make, or need a new mold. We confirm that first, then agree the artwork, sample checks and production schedule with you.
Discuss your orderDoes your custom foil container order need a new mold?
If a current mold suits your size, rim and intended use, we can review your print on that shape. A new shape adds drawing approval and tooling before the sample stage.
Still comparing dimensions? You can check the container sizes and existing versus new mold options.
| Print on an existing shape | New shape with print | |
|---|---|---|
| When it fits | Your brand on a compatible shape from our mold library. | You need dimensions or a shape the current range cannot provide. |
| MOQ reference | From 50,000 pieces | From 100,000 pieces |
| Time reference | 30 to 50 days after artwork approval | 3 to 4 months after drawing approval |
| Setup | No new mold when the shape and specification are compatible. Plate terms are confirmed in the quote. | New tooling and plates. The quote confirms the scope and cost. |
| Your approval | Container specification and the identified artwork revision. | Technical drawing and the identified artwork revision. |
These are planning references, not universal order terms. Your quotation confirms MOQ, timing, tooling and samples for the container, foil weight, print colors, quantity, packing and current production plan. Freight time is separate.

Your custom order, from enquiry to shipment
For either type of custom foil container order, your approvals refer to an identified version of the quote, artwork and drawing. We agree any remaining open points with you before the affected work starts.
- 01
Agree the quotation
We check the container or target dimensions against your use, lid, quantity and print requirements. Your quotation records the packing, destination and trade term, along with assumptions, open items and the sample and document scope.
If you are still gathering details, the quote checklist covers the first enquiry. Common quotation delays may help you identify a missing detail.
- 02
Approve artwork and dimensions
We review the print file, wording, marks, barcode data and color reference. You approve an identified print revision; for a new shape, you also approve the technical drawing.
We flag anything that is not print-ready before plate making. You can compare printing capabilities and design examples while preparing your file.
- 03
Confirm plates and tooling
Your written order confirms the plate scope, cost and timing, including engraving, ownership, storage, reuse and repeat charges. New tooling needs the same order-specific agreement against the approved drawing.
For new molds, allow around 60 days for planning; the quotation confirms the current schedule. Artwork review may run alongside tooling when the approved order plan allows it.
- 04
Review the agreed samples
We send the evidence agreed for your order, matched to the approved artwork, drawing and quotation. Your written acceptance identifies the revision, the checks reviewed and any open point. When a physical sample is required, bulk production waits for the agreed acceptance.
- 05
Confirm bulk production
Production follows the final quantity, approved revisions, packing basis and agreed commercial milestone. The production allowance is 30 to 50 days for planning after the relevant approvals; your order confirmation gives the current schedule and the progress or QC evidence we will provide.
- 06
Approve packing and shipment details
You confirm carton marks, pallet limits, document wording, consignee, destination and booking responsibility. We agree the packing list, commercial and shipping documents, and any applicable product or destination documents before shipment.
FOB Qingdao is available when selected in your quotation. The confirmed trade term and transit time are separate from production. ICC explains Incoterms 2020. You can also review the carton and pallet checks.
Sample approval for your custom order
The sample plan for your custom foil container order depends on what needs checking. New tooling, new print or another agreed risk may call for a physical sample. Other orders may use a combination of proofs, measurements, photos and documents.
If a result differs from the approved drawing, artwork, sample or written order basis, we compare the evidence with you and agree the corrective action before moving forward.
- Print proof
- The artwork revision, wording, color reference, print position and marks you have agreed.
- Container or measured sample
- Agreed dimensions, rim or lid fit and any use check included in your project.
- Packing evidence
- The packing sample or photos agreed for your order, checked against the carton and packing requirements.
- Test and document evidence
- The specific item, intended use and destination covered by your request. The food-contact document checklist can help define that scope.
Questions about your custom order
Can I change my custom order after confirmation?
Tell us what changed and which revision it replaces. A size, foil weight, print, quantity, packing, destination or trade-term change can affect the quotation.
After plate engraving or a tooling order, we need to recheck feasibility, cost and timing. Text or color changes may require a plate review; dimensions, rim, lid fit or cavity changes may require a tooling review. Some changes may no longer be possible.
Once production starts, we also check material already ordered and work in progress. Near shipment, a change can affect labels, documents or booking. We confirm the revised basis with you in writing before accepting the change.
How are mold costs and ownership agreed?
The quote depends on the approved drawing, container size, wall style, cavity configuration, lid tooling and current tooling plan. It states cost, ownership, storage and reuse conditions, plus any related charges. Those terms belong to your order; they are not the same for every project.
Do I need to pay for samples?
Your quotation states the sample and verification plan, any sample charge, courier cost and approval milestone. We agree whether you need a physical sample or other evidence before that work starts.
What payment terms apply to my custom order?
Your quotation and pro forma invoice confirm the payment method, deposit, balance milestone and bank details. Plate making, tooling and production follow the terms confirmed for that order.
Can you use my existing plates and molds for a reorder?
We first check their current status and availability, along with your artwork revision, color reference, quantity and packing. Storage, reuse conditions and repeat charges also need confirmation. Existing tooling may shorten the process when it remains compatible and approved for the new order.
Which certificates or reports can you provide?
Availability depends on the exact container, lid or material and how and where you intend to use it. Your document request should identify the product, food-contact side, food and use conditions, destination, order stage and requested wording.
We confirm the current applicable certificate, test report or declaration for that scope before you rely on it. FDA's food-contact guidance explains why components and intended use matter.
Which container do you have in mind?
Share the closest shape or drawing and where you are with the artwork. We can check whether an existing mold will suit your order and confirm what you would need to approve next.
